Typical Physical Demands: Generally, office work with minimal physical demand. Must be able to drive and hold a valid driver's license. Must speak, understand and write English. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and able to stand for several hours.

Typical Working Conditions:  Functions primarily in an office setting. However, position requires attendance at indoor and outdoor public events. Typically, position will have a 40-hour work week Monday through Friday. However, evenings and weekends will be required for some special events.

Job Segments:          

  • Communicate and promote the Family Y mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers, members and the community at large.
  • Assist in planning and implementing association special events.
  • Assist in planning and implementing association social media marketing efforts.
  • Assists in recruitment, training and supervision of department interns.
  • Serve as Social Media Advocate within the association, using discretion to identify issues and opportunities with comments and inquiries from our social media audience.
  • Develop protocols on using social media to tell the Y's story and impact for implementation by Dec. 31, 2018.Tracks and reports social media monthly user analytics.
  • Serve as Team Lean program coordinator for internal and external audiences and implements all aspects of the program.
  • Develops content and oversees all social media sites, creating and maintaining an active, engaging presence with users.
  • Ensures the Association external website is updated with accurate and timely content.
  • Tracks and reports website monthly user analytics.
  • Ensures the Association internal staff website is updated with accurate and timely content.
  • Represent the Family Y at community outreach events.
  • Visit branches monthly as marketing liaison to ensure monthly marketing materials are up to date and being used.
  • Create and maintain association-wide calendar via the internal staff website.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all staff, volunteers and members.
  • Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  • Actively participates and supports the annual scholarship campaign.
  • Respond to all member and community inquiries, comments and complaints in a professional, friendly and timely matter.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 Performance Requirements:

  • Must have excellent verbal and demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Professional discernment in verbal and written business etiquette.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft computer applications including Publisher, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. A working knowledge of Photoshop and WordPress CMS is beneficial.
  • Must have demonstrated writing and design skills, including strong copywriting and editing.
  • Must be organized and have an attention to details.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have dependable transportation.
  • Experience with shooting and editing digital video and still photography.

Education/Experience:  A degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or another related subject. Prefer 3 - 5 years' experience in a related field.

Personal Qualities: The ideal candidate will be energetic, articulate, able to work well under deadlines, flexible, and professional in demeanor and experience.
