Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Prime-Time Program specifically handling the areas of: budget, staffing, training, inventory, administration of policy and procedure, planning, development and promotion of programs to ensure the successful business operation and quality of the child care services of The Family Y.

  • Prime Time before/after-school programs in Richmond County
  • Creates a comprehensive curriculum and program plan providing leadership to achieve the annual agreed upon goals and objectives.
  • Promotes all child care programs to increase the areas that are served by communicating a positive impression of The Family Y mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers, members and the community at large in a variety of public settings.
  • Acts as main contact to ensure a continued and successful collaboration and support:
    • Board of Education
    • Prime Time school principals
    • United Way of the CSRA
  • Works with staff to evaluate and approve scholarships for all program participation.
  • Develops and administers the annual budget taking action to maintain the fiscal integrity and to correct variances.
  • Ensures development and implementation of quality training for program staff both on the job and during summer months.
  • Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates staff and volunteers in the performance of their respective roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensures that all sites are properly licensed and are in compliance with all state regulations.
  • Evaluates each site at a minimum of two times annually.
  • Compiles statistics and files timely reports with the Chief Operating Officer, Metro staff, agencies and associations are required (i.e., Golden Harvest Food Bank, annual report, United Way monthly reports, etc.)
  • Provides support to Site Directors and Area Coordinators to accomplish goals and objectives of the program and The Family Y.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all staff, volunteers, school officials and community members.
  • Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
  • Recruits and works with the Community Support Chairman and volunteers to coordinate the branch's successful annual campaign.

Performance Requirements: Pass State of Georgia criminal history and background check, obtain 15 hours DHR approved child care training annually, must be certified in CPR and First Aid, proficient in supervision, management and problem solving with the ability to lead staff and volunteers, be a team player, organize and deliver complex inventory to diverse settings in a timely manner within budget guidelines.

Education/Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years or older with a minimum of 5-7 years of childcare experience and a college degree from an accredited university.
  • Five years supervisory or administrative experience.
  • YMCA of the USA training in youth serving programs a plus.

Personal Qualities: Patience with children and adults, ability to effectively relate to people of all cultural, social and economic segments of the community, ability to encourage and inspire staff, ability to work with people to resolve conflicts, ability to community effectively with strong organizational skills, willingness to learn and grow. Must be a self-starter with good follow-through and the ability to deal effectively with vendors and suppliers.
