Position Summary: Under the direction of the CACFP Finance Manager the incumbent is responsible for the monitoring of all approved sites in the following counties: Columbia, McDuffie, North Jefferson, and Warren to ensure programs are operating in compliance with Summer Food Program and USDA guidelines.

Supervision Exercised: None

Typical Physical Demands:   Physical stamina is required to tolerate continuous standing, stooping, reaching, grasping, kneeling, walking, bending, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.  Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  Occasionally requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.  Requires the completion and acceptable results of a fingerprint check per the rules and regulations of the Summer Food Program.

 

Typical Working Conditions:  Duties are typically performed in areas related to cafeteria and kitchen and performed while walking or standing.  The ability to withstand temperature variances common to food service facilities is required. May require automobile travel to various branches, training, seminars and workshops. 

 

Job Segments:

  1. Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures.
  2. Ensures compliance with USDA and State and Health Regulations for Child Nutrition Programs.
  3. Reviews food service operation and reports any issues, along with recommendations, to the CACFP Finance Manager.
  4. Performs daily sites visits to include proper documentation of each visit.
  5. Pick-up and check for accuracy all paperwork at each site on a weekly basis.
  6. Accurately completes and submits all required daily, weekly, and monthly food service reports.
  7. Communicates effectively with the CACFP Finance Manager keeping them informed of operational concerns.
  8. Adheres to uniform and personal hygiene requirements.
  9. Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
  10. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or satisfactory completion of the GED.
  • Three to five years' previous experience in cafeteria monitoring preferred.
  • Certifications required within 45 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively manage others.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Position requires a clear criminal background check to include an MVR (Motor Vehicle Report), if applicable
