 Job Title: Prime Time Site Director

FLSA Status: Part Time

Reports to: Area Coordinator

Job Location: Richmond County Elementary Schools



This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Prime Time Site Director creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while creating a learning environment for students in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. The Prime Time Site Director should teach and model the core values of respect, honesty, responsibility, and caring. Prime Time Site Directors provide supervision and direction to Prime Time Site Assistants and Substitutes.

This position is seasonal, lasting August May during the school year. Hours are generally Monday-Friday in the afternoon between 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with variations on school holidays and early release days.

  • Supervises the scheduling of specific site's Prime Time staff to include the placement of substitutes
  • Ensures staff/child ration is within limits at ALL times, keeping a consistent head count and communicating changes with other staff
  • Serves snack to children participating in the program
  • Implements and actively engages in prescribed daily plan of student activities
  • Implements and actively engages in special activities
  • Actively engages and/or leads 30 minutes of fitness activities with children each day.
  • Assists with site maintenance (bathroom, kitchen, cafeteria, activity area, playground, cabinet, etc.) and ensures cleanliness each day of areas used
  • Advises Prime Time Area Coordinator and Prime Time Metro office all child/parent/staff problems immediately and documents as required
  • Maintains open communication with children families, and school administration and refers all questions about the overall site (rules and regulation) to the Site Director.
  • Ensures that agreements between the Family Y Prime Time Program and school site Principal are followed. (i.e. Usage of school equipment and facility and cleanliness of areas used)
  • Keeps accurate inventory of Prime Time equipment and supplies in a neat and organized manner
  • Completes all required paperwork accurately and turns in weekly packet to designated location for delivery to Metro Office.
  • Records attendance and maintains parent sign-in/outs
  • Holds parents and children accountable to the rules of Prime Time while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Works closely with Prime Time administrators to assist with balance collections.
  • Keep open communication with school site administration and alert Area Coordinator of issues.
  • Evaluates program quality daily and reports needed adjustments when appropriate.
  • Attends Prime Time program staff meetings and any mandatory meetings for the Family Y staff
  • Certified and current at all times in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety
  • Successfully complete 10 hours DHS training annually
  • Successfully complete YMCA School-Age Curriculum training
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Area Coordinator or Executive Director of Youth Development

  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Minimum of CDA, TCC, or higher level of education.
  • Upon hire, completion of YMCA provided First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience working with school aged children.
