    This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Camp Lakeside Grounds Keeper creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while completing the daily operations of the camp while camp is in session. The Camp Lakeside Grounds Keeper performs duties according to all state, federal, and YMCA policies and procedures.

    • Maintains grass cutting on camp property.
    • Maintains hiking trails and pathways.
    • Maintains waterfront areas.
    • Sweeps porches daily.
    • Empties grounds trash daily.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned

    • First and CPR Certified
    • Clean driving record.
    • Flexible work schedule. (Week days, weekends, early mornings, late afternoons)
    • Ability to assist campers in an emergency



    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Minimum of one year in a groundskeeping role and experience operating outdoor equipment.
    • High degree of human relation skills, ability to effectively communicate and manage information to management and members.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve and possess effective management skills.

    • Physically perform all skills required of a nutrition manager
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
    • Work with cleaning chemicals.
    • Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
