POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Camp Lakeside Day Camp Coordinator creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while completing the daily operations of the camp while camp is in session. The Day Camp Coordinator for Camp Lakeside performs duties according to all state, federal, and YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages Field Trip Programming Schedule
  • Communicates with Branches and community partners to schedule field trips to Camp Lakeside.
  • Coordinates transportation if needed.
  • Facilitates and manages programming for field trips.
  • Maintains supervision, safety, and care for groups while on Camp Lakeside grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Working knowledge of Day Camp rules and policies
  • Prior experience with youth day camps preferred
  • Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid
  • One to three years' related experience and/or training
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community

  • Physically perform all skills required of a nutrition manager
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Work with cleaning chemicals.
