This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The CrossFit Coach creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while guiding members throughout their wellness experience and creating a learning environment in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. The CrossFit Coach is high energy, motivating, and a relationship builder who will help members reach their goals through exercise while having fun.

  • Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational CrossFit sessions to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
  • Creates a welcoming class environment for all fitness levels and encourages and motivates class members.
  • Maintain a high profile among members for the purpose of being a role model of health and fitness.
  • Research and stay abreast of CrossFit industry trends and implement relevant trends at Branch Facility.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all CrossFit equipment.
  • Assists with handling emergency staffing needs and establishing substitute instructor to ensure class schedule is maintained.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all staff, volunteers and members
  • Handles Administrative tasks, including but not limited to scheduling, internal wellness promotion, and assists with special events planning
  • Interpret, communicate, and promote Family YMCA mission, goals, and objectives to employees, volunteers, members, and the community at large.
  • Accepts and demonstrates the Character Development Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Actively participates and supports the Annual Fund Campaign
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Upon hire, completion of YMCA provided Group X, First Aid, and CPR certification.
  • College degree in physical education, exercise science, athletic training, or other related field is preferred.
  • Current CrossFit Level 1 certification required, multiple certifications preferred.
